This bell was purchased from the C and S Bell Co. by the City of Norwich in 1912 for use as a firebell. It was used until it was replaced by an electric siren in 1939. This monument was erected in 1985 by the Norwich Jaycees in honor of Norwichs [sic] progress in the first 100 years.
