Sept. 19, 1863, Battery I, 14th U.S. Artillery 1st Lieut. F.G. Smith, Com'd'g of the 3rd Brig., 3rd Div., 14th Corps. was engaged on the Reed's Bridge Road a mile east of the McDonald House, from about 7:30 A.M. until afternoon. On Sept. 20, 1863, it occupied positions on Snodgrass Hill throughout the day, being repeatedly engaged.
